A two-person firm. 3,200 inspections.
Alpine Home Inspectors is Ron and Sarah Wallace. Ron walks the roofs; Sarah runs the reports, the radon, and the office. Between us, 3,200 homes since 2011 and zero complaints on file with the Colorado state board.
From 22 years on the tools to the other side of the report.
Ron spent 22 years as a residential general contractor in Colorado Springs before starting Alpine in 2011. He'd hired dozens of inspectors for his own remodels and watched them produce reports that consistently missed what a builder would notice: vent terminations, flashing sequences, roof pitch transitions, crawl-space moisture patterns.
Alpine started from that gap, a home inspection done by someone who actually built homes, documented by someone who wrote trade publications for a living (that's Sarah). Fifteen years later the scope is the same, the pace is the same, and the referral network has quietly built to the point that 90% of our work is repeat agents and word-of-mouth.
Every certification requires ongoing education, not just a one-time test.
- InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, The standard most Colorado lenders and agents require. Includes a written standards of practice and ongoing continuing-education requirements. Ron has been certified since 2012.
- HAAG Certified Inspector (Residential Roof), The industry standard for storm/insurance-claim damage assessment. Fewer than 3% of inspectors carry HAAG; it lets our reports serve as evidence in insurance negotiations.
- Colorado Licensed Home Inspector, License CO-HI-08214, in good standing, zero complaints.
- National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP), Required to perform radon testing under Colorado law.
- InterNACHI Certified Pool & Spa Inspector, Added 2019 to support the growing luxury-home market in Monument and the Black Forest.
We inspect where we live.
Alpine inspects only in the Pikes Peak region, roughly from Monument south to Fountain, west to Woodland Park, east to Falcon. We don't travel to Denver and we don't farm out to other inspectors under our name. Every inspection we sign is an inspection Ron performed.
We donate one free inspection per quarter to a Habitat for Humanity home closing in Colorado Springs. We've done that since 2014. It's not advertised on the site because the point isn't marketing; it's because new homeowners deserve to know what they're walking into regardless of what they paid.
We're not the fastest, and we're not the cheapest.
If you need an inspection done tomorrow at 8 am because the contract requires it, call a bigger firm with three inspectors on staff. We're usually 3–5 business days out. If your budget is $350 and below, we're not the right firm, that price window generally buys you a 90-minute drive-by.
We're a fit if you want the inspector on the roof, if you want a report you can actually read, and if you're comfortable waiting a few days to get on the calendar. Our repeat clients tend to buy two or three more homes over the years and keep calling. That's the test we use to know we're doing it right.
